Krishna Janmashtami is a festival commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous incarnations of Lord Vishnu. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Mahatma International School (C.B.S.E.) celebrated Janmashtami on 24th August, 2024 with mirth and joy.
The students came dressed up as Lord Krishna, Radha, Playmates and Childhood Friends of Krishna. They were accessorized with colorful bangles, dupattas and peacock crowns to set the Janmashtami mood. The School premises was decorated with balloons, flutes, earthen pots (matka) giving the vibes of festivity. Special assembly was conducted wherein the students swayed to the tunes of traditional songs.
Students were overjoyed when they broke the ‘Dahi Handi’ to grace this occasion. Dahi Handi is the most ancient joyful game played and celebrated, for the birth of Krishna on Janmashtami. All students participated enthusiastically.
The day was a delightful divine journey for the students.
The program ended with distribution of sweets which they brought specially to celebrate with their teachers and classmates and made Janmashtami celebration a grand success.
