Marathi Diwas Celebration 2023

Every year, 27th February is celebrated as Marathi Language Day in India. Marathi Language Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of eminent Marathi Poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar who is popularly known as “Kusumagraj” in Indian literary circle. Marathi being the official language of the State of Maharashtra, the main focus of this celebration is to promote and sustain the richness of Marathi culture among the young generation. This celebration aims at inculcating and honouring the rich history and literature associated with it among people residing in the state.

Mahatma International School (CBSE) celebrated ‘Marathi Bhasha Divas (Marathi Language Day)’ on 25th February, 2023. The guest of the program was Principal, Mr. Jomon Mathew Sir. All the teaching staff and the students of classes VI to VIII attended the program. The event proceeded with some of our students presenting programs on the Marathi dialects, traditional costumes and cuisines of different Marathi cultures. We also had a beautiful poetry recited by Mrs. Ashwini Divekar. Thereafter, we had a scintillating dance performance. Principal, Mr. Jomon Mathew shared his views on Vernacular languages on this auspicious occasion. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks.

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated on 15th February, 2022 online for grade VI and VII. Participants present their thought on given topic “१. मराठी भाषा दिवस, २. महाराष्ट्राची परंपरा आणि ३. महाराष्ट्र गीत” A participant shows talent during this activity. Some students gave speech on १. मराठी भाषा दिवस. Some are given information on Maharashtra Tradition (महाराष्ट्राची परंपरा) and other participant’s sing a song on Maharashtra song (महाराष्ट्र गीत). Very enthusiastically students are present their skills.

Students learnt that everyone should respect for all languages.
