On 2nd July, 2024, Tuesday, our school held a special assembly to observe World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, emphasizing the importance of respecting and protecting the elderly in our communities.
The assembly began with a warm welcome from the students of IX B, who highlighted the significance of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. The students spoke about the growing global concern regarding the mistreatment of older adults and the need for collective action to address this issue.
It was then followed by a speech that set the tone for the day, emphasizing empathy, respect, and the responsibility each of us has towards the elderly.
Then some of the students of IX B, presented an informative skit that depicted different scenarios of elder abuse. The skit was both educational and emotionally stirring, effectively conveying the message that elder abuse can occur in various settings, including within families and care facilities. The powerful performances by the students underscored the importance of vigilance and compassion towards the elderly.
The students were then addressed by the Principal stating that the assembly was an eye-opening event aimed at educating students about the various forms of elder abuse and promoting a culture of care and dignity for older adults.
