Event: Workshop on Road Safety for the students of Class VIII, IX and X of Mahatma International School [C.B.S.E.].

Date/Day: 13th January 2015, Tuesday.
The workshop was conducted in accordance to Road Safety Week that is being observed between 11th and 17th January, 2015.

The programme started with Ms. Shenoy Vanshika of Std. 9 welcoming the guests and students.

Mr. Pradeep Giridhar, Senior Police Inspector from RTO Kalamboli gave an awareness lecture and conducted the workshop on road safety. Dy. C.E.O. Mr. A. L. Tripathi, Campus Provost Ms. Rama Devi Putta, Principal Ms. Beena K. Thambi, Police Naik Mr. K. P. Khairghar, were also present for the workshop.

A brief look at the various points that were covered in the interactive session.

  1. Technical health of the Vehicle before driving
  2. Important documents that should be on the person driving. [License, PUC documents, Vehicle Insurance, RC Book]
  3. Pedestrian safety and Rules for Pedestrian
  4. Importance of Zebra Crossing.
  5. Impact of Drinking and Driving
  6. Impact of usage of mobile phones while driving.
  7. General Rules of Road Safety.

He quoted “Speed Thrills But It Kills”
There was an interactive session in which the students clarified many of their doubts.

Dy. C.E.O. Mr. A.L. Tripathi and Principal Ms. Beena K. Thambi summarized the programme by giving valuable inputs to the students.

The seminar concluded with Ms. Meena Khalil thanking the Guests, Principal, Teaching and the Non-teaching staff for their help and co-operation in conducting the seminar successfully.
